A House Full of Art and Creativity

Pakistan being the second biggest home to the Dawoodi Bohra Community, yet has little evidence of their presence herein. Amongst the narrow and crowded lanes of the Chic Bazaar inside Babu Muhallah, lies a house full of art and creativity – The Bohra Mosque. With the locality itself being a business hub of the community, men are seen all around in their traditional white caps, clearly marking their sense of belonging.

‘This is a 128-year old masterpiece with each and everything used herein, imported from abroad’, adds in Ali Asghar, a member of the community and caretaker of the mosque. ‘The ground stone was set by a woman who raised funds by selling self- made shoes. Such was her dedication towards her community. It was then later renovated.’
